Care: To clean evidence of every day love from your metal-based Trisha B. jewelry is to use warm water, a soft toothbrush (we use a battery operated one in the studio), and a pea-sized dot of blue Dawn dish detergent.  Chemical cleaners may also affect the oxidized patina or react negatively with gold alloys.  Perfume is the enemy of pearls’ delicate nacre.  And water is the nemesis to a tight pearl knot, so no swimming or showering.  The damage can be remedied by having your piece re-strung, but that will cost you.  It’s recommended to simply wipe your pearls and gem beads with a soft cloth after wearing, and store them separately.

Wearability: Each Trisha B. piece is handcrafted and test driven by the artist to meet her persnickety durability/wearability standards.  She designs signature pieces that explore themes of personal strength, irony, the disparate architecture of culturally vibrant communities, and the omnipresence of nature. Your piece comes to you directly from the artist as it’s first owner. May it become a comfortable staple in your style repertoire.

Gemstones: All gemstones are earth-mined and untreated unless noted in the product details.  The artist also has a thing for stones with a delicious inclusion or two.  These inclusions allow light to bounce around in the stone within their reflective settings.  It’s a lovely thing to ponder, but not a good candidate for the ultrasonic cleaner.

Precious Metals: Please note that the artist oftentimes oxidizes the Sterling silver to accentuate textures within the piece.  The pH balance of your skin may naturally erase this bit of chemical alchemy, and you will have shiny silver.  Some people cannot wear silver because it turns their skin green due to the copper content in the Sterling silver alloy and, again, their own bodies’ chemistry reacting to a noble metal.  And speaking of noble metals that can cause a reaction in some people: nickel.  Yes, it’s present in the white gold alloys used throughout unless otherwise noted in the item’s details.

Contact Us: At the end of the day, we are jewelry nerds.  If you have a question relating to your purchase, the history of jewelry, hand tools, stones, where to get your jewelry repaired or rings resized, the virtues of the metric system, how to recycle unloved or unworn treasures, and other loosely related subjects, please don’t hesitate to ask.  You will find our email on the Contact Page.
